Age relaxation
The notification gives relaxation as cut-off birth dates. That works out to 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PwBD candidates over the General limit. Ex-servicemen follow Government of India guidelines.

- Click Apply Online, then New Registration. Enter your name, contact details and email. Note the provisional registration number and password, which are also sent by email and SMS.

IOCL Selection Process 2026
Selection has three stages: the CBT, then Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT), then the Personal Interview (PI).
- Weightage: CBT 85%, GD and GT 5% (minimum 40%), PI 10% (minimum 40%).
- CBT cut-offs: General, EWS and OBC (NCL) need 40% in each section and 45% overall; SC/ST need 35% and 40%; PwBD need 25% and 30%.
- Shortlisting: candidates are ranked by CBT marks within each domain. Qualifying alone does not guarantee a call.
- Merit list: composite score of at least 45% (General, EWS, OBC), 40% (SC/ST) or 30% (PwBD).
- Verification: originals are checked before GD, GT and PI, followed by a pre-employment medical examination.

Is GATE Required? IOCL Recruitment Through GATE vs Without GATE
